Semiconductor Device Process Engineer/Scientist

AdvanceSis is an early stage solar energy company developing products ranging from III-V based concentrating photovoltaic (CPV) cells to complete electricity generation systems. The company is now undergoing rapid expansion of its development activities following significant venture capital investment and is looking for a III-V Semiconductor Device Process Engineer/Scientist to accelerate the development and optimization of the next generation of cost competitive, III-V CPV cells.

Key Responsibilities:
  • III-V CPV cell process development: Understand and be able to implement III-V processing steps e.g. wet and dry etching, metallisation, dielectric deposition, singulation etc to produce multi-junction solar cells on Ge and GaAs substrates.
  • Novel Device Process Development: Work closely with the internal development team and key external collaborators to develop III-V CPV cells on novel, low cost platforms.
  • Process Transfer: Contribute to and assist in the transfer of new process steps to AdvanceSis’ external collaborators and sub-contractors.
  • Patent Generation: Initiate and/or contribute to the generation of patents, when appropriate, as a means of protecting AdvanceSis’ Intellectual Property.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Excellent first degree in either Physics or Electrical/Electronic Engineering. A Ph.D in the same or a related discipline would be advantageous.
  • A minimum of three years experience in III-V semiconductor processing gained in either a commercial organization or as post graduate research. Processing experience in the production of solar cells or sophisticated optoelectronic devices would be preferable
